Learn the UniFi OS dashboard, first login steps, and how to navigate sites, devices, and settings on your hosted controller.
Getting Started with UniFi OS
Welcome to your hosted UniFi OS controller. This guide covers the basics so you can manage your network confidently.
First login
- Open your controller URL from the Servers page in your i2unifi dashboard.
- Sign in with the admin credentials provided at provisioning (change the password after first login).
- Complete the setup wizard if prompted — timezone, country, and optional cloud access.
Dashboard overview
- Home — quick health summary, alerts, and recent activity.
- Devices — UniFi gateways, switches, and access points on this site.
- Clients — connected users and devices with usage stats.
- Topology — visual map of how devices connect (great for troubleshooting).
- Settings — system, networks, WiFi, firewall, and advanced options.
Sites and organizations
UniFi OS can host multiple sites under one controller. Each site has its own devices, networks, and WiFi. Use sites when you manage separate locations or customers.
Tips for new admins
- Bookmark your controller URL and keep admin credentials in a password manager.
- Enable two-factor authentication under Settings → Admins when available.
- Check Alerts daily during rollout — adoption and firmware issues show up there first.
- Use Read-only admin accounts for staff who only need to view status.
